The Jackknife jewel case is designed and manufactured by Intellicase Corporation, based in Burlingame, California.  In a market where 14.9 billion CD and DVD cases are sold annually, our mission is partner with premier licensing and distribution partners to gain significant worldwide market share for the patented Jackknife case.

Our product was born in a perfect storm of frustration, inspiration and opportunity. A few years ago, Phil Dewhurst, an inventor and case designer and now of the board of Intellicase, had a technical insight to create a better case for optical discs.  After securing extensive patent protection and setting up manufacturing facilities for high volume production, the Jackknife case is now available.

This invention is designed with the manifesto that form follows function. Designed like a jackknife with an easy folding action for opening and closing, the patented Jackknife jewel case also preserves the surfaces of CDs and DVDs it stores through the smooth, non-contact folding action and closure. Made of the same materials and measuring in the same industry standard dimensions as other cases, the Jackknife jewel case has insert capacity for booklets and print artwork and can optionally be printed on the outside surface as well.
